SOUS CHEF (GASTRO BAR)
Location: Cormey, Co. Cavan
Full-time, permanent
Essentials: Sous chef for busy Gastro bar, eclectic menu, unpredictable business levels up to 400 covers per day over weekends, circa 200 mid week, hot food served 12-9pm daily; team of 5 chefs in this area
Salary: €38k – €44k gross/year DOE
Main requirement: EU Passport or Irish Stamp 4

Job Responsibilities:
- To lead kitchen team in chef’s absence
- To provide guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
- To oversees and organise kitchen stock and ingredients
- To ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
- To Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
- To train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
- To Manage food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimise waste, plus work with existing systems to improve waste reduction
- To supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant /banqueting standards
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as sous chef
- Experience is fast paced gastro bar / bistro style setting
- Good Organisational skills
- Ability to lead as well as work with your team
- Fluent written & spoken English
