Location: Tralee, Co. Kerry
Salary: 43-45K gross p/year
Contract: Permanent
Your first duty is to assume responsibility and maintain the smooth running and management of daily operations of the hotel premises
Responsibilities:
- To promote a professional and hospitable image to the guest and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.
- To consistently deliver our service promise, ensuring service standards and maintained to the highest standard.
- To take responsibility for coordinating customer and staff feedback systems.
- To deal efficiently and professionally with banquet and wedding inquiries.
- Customer service duties: to include, customer queries, (via telephone, in person and digitally), and dealing with customer complaints.
- To work with the directors to create and deliver operational budgets, using initiative and offering suggestions on operational cost saving measures.
- Ensure all departments adhere to budgets and targets.
- To effectively manager teams across all departments, ealing with any personnel issues that may arise
- To ensure the security of the hotel, hotel stock and keys at all times.
- To maintain vigilance on departmental rosters ensuring adequate staffing for daily events
- To implement and monitor a programme of personnel training ensuring RCOI SOP’s are utilised and implemented
- To monitor wage cost & food & Beverage cost % ensuring appropriate % are maintained
- To take on supervisory responsibilities in specific departments as required and to assist in all areas operationally
- To ensure all hotel functions and events are accounted for, liaise with company accountant regarding same and be responsible for hotel lodgement & banking procedures
- To maintain regular and efficient communication relating to the hotel with the directors and to attend meetings as required.
Requirements of Deputy General Manager:
- Demonstrated history as Deputy GM / operations manager in 4* (or above) hotel setting
- General knowledge of HR legislation / Health & safety requirements in order to ensure smooth running of hotel & compliance
- Excellent motivational and leadership skills
- Proactive thinker
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Customer service oriented
- Fluent spoken & written English
- Full permission to work & reside in Ireland
